Bridges X WIOMSA
The brief.
BRIDGES x WIOMSA brought together PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, marine managers, and young professionals from across the Western Indian Ocean including Comoros, Mozambique, Réunion, and Mayotte for a five-day school on strengthening interdisciplinary approaches to marine social-ecological resilience. Our task was to document the training and show both the learning and the exchange of ideas.
Keeping it real.
Over five days, we covered presentations, practical sessions, group discussions, and interactions between participants delivering both photos and videos same-day throughout the training. Because the videos were built to be used long after the training ended, not just as an event recap, we worked closely with the Bridges team on translations for the final output, given that the school brought together marine specialists from different countries and language backgrounds. Our coverage extended beyond the school itself to the Bridges team's presence at the WIOMSA Symposium immediately following, capturing an active learning environment where knowledge was shared and new working relationships were formed.
